| The first traces of the family are
found in Rovegro - Novaro - Italy.
Jean Baptiste Lietta, born
around 1810. His son Fortunato, born in 1840, went to
Switzerland and in 1863 married in Lausanne with Fanny Favrat.
Here Paul Noël (Leopoldo or Paolo), 1874-1956, and Jean
(1875-?) were born. Paul returned to Rovegro, while Jean stayed
in Switzerland and obtaind in 1896 the citizenship of Lausanne.
Paul married in 1895 with Anna Ramoni (1875-1942).
They had nine children, four daughters and
five sons. Of the daughters Candida, today march 2003 is still alive.
Possibly another daughter Fanny as well.
The oldest son Fortunato (Fortuné) leaves
already at the age of 12 for Switzerland, but moves on to
France, returns to Italy to do his military service during World
war I. He then settles in Switzerland and marries the Swiss Ida
Martinelli. They get two children, Marie Rose and Charles Paul
(Carlo). Marie Rose married in 1951 with Paul Samuel Gavillet
and Carlo in 1955 with Violette Neuhaus. Carlo and Violette had
2 daughters, so this branch of the Lietta family is dying out.
The Branch of Jean Lietta needs further
investigation, but it is already sure that there are today in
Switzerland living male descendants |
